Each capsule of Inositol contains 325 mg of inositol derived from rice. The advantage of using rice is that rice does not contain gluten. Most Inositol in this country is derived from corn which can also present some allergy problems
This is an expensive form of inositol, both because of the rice source and because of the amount of inositol in each tablet (325 mg). On average, each tablet contains about twice as much as most of the other inositol products available to health care professionals.
You can use Inositol with elevated or reduced blood sugar, elevated blood fats, or diabetes. Inositol is also effective for skin lesions, slow growth, hair loss that is not genetically predetermined, pesticide poisoning, lymph edema and in some cases of chronic unresolved constipation.
Inositol works in some cases of pesticide poisoning. It is a lipotropic agent and will help to free the pesticide from adipose tissue where you can get it into the blood and then get it out of the system. Pesticides are stored in the liver and adipose fat. If you use a lot of inositol and you may have a detoxification reaction to it, so the first thing you would want to rule out is the probability that you are releasing pesticides into the blood faster than you can remove them from the system. In these cases, we like to use the 21st Century Homeopathics line of products to help clear these pesticides from the body.
There is also a large body of peer review information that indicates that ten grams or more a day of Inositol is effective in many of cases of psychotic behavior and other psychological disturbances or distress. Inositol can be used with 5-Hydroxy Tryptophan to help with the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin in the brain.
