Biodophilus-FOS contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, the DDS-1 strand (which is the strand developed at the University of Nebraska). It also contains three billion Bifidobacterium per serving, in a base of fructooligosaccharides (FOS) from beet source.
We use Biodophilus-FOS with any condition requiring the reestablishment of correct bowel flora, i.e., parasites, fungal/yeast overgrowth, gastric inflammation, antibiotic therapy, constipation, or diarrhea.
Biodophilus-FOS is very effective with children because it mixes very nicely in water and it tastes good because of the FOS component. It’s a lot easier to get Biodophilus-FOS powder into a child than a Lactozyme tablet.
Biodophilus-FOS is contraindicated when there is a Klebsiella gut infection. If Klebsiella is a problem, avoid the FOS component because it may feed the problem or exacerbate it. We would then use Lactozyme, which does not contain the FOS in this case.

3. Refrigeration during shipment not required
4. Meets or exceeds label claim at expiration date when stored at normal room temperature
According to Dr. Khem Shihani, a renowned authority on probiotics, the majority of probiotic products on the market today do not meet their label claim for probiotics or numeric content.
A recent study conducted by Biotics Research Corporation substantiates that, at the stated expiration date, BioDophilus-FOS meets or exceeds label claim, including the numerical claim. And while we recommend that you refrigerate BioDophilus-FOS to preserve its activity, expiration dates are based on storage at normal room temperature.
Additionally, cross-country shipping studies, conducted during the heat of summer, demonstrated that shipment of BioDophilus-FOS requires no refrigeration to meet label claim at expiration.
